Next Wednesday will be Week7 of 52

We have been contemplating blogging our 52 Wednesday of Global Cuisine and Camaraderie, and now with Week 7 on it's way-we decided to go for it!

First, I should probably explain how this all came about. At the end of 2010, I was thinking about my time and what I wanted to do with it. I thought about how I wanted to add some interest to my life and fill it with the things I love- food, family, friends and making memories! I went to Borders and Barnes&Noble, and found a series of cookbooks that I really liked. I settled on the "Essential of Cooking" series from William and Sonoma, and figured I would teach myself how to cook from these books, the Internet and word of mouth.

Taking these interest and with the New Year, I made the resolution to enrich my life on a weekly bases and Wednesday dinners would be the start. I would choose an ethnicity, write up a menu, create an event on Facebook, post it to my profile and let my friends RSVP to it. The limit would be set at 8 since that is about all that can fit around the table. When it hit 8, I would close down the event and those interested in dinner would be able to RSVP to the next week of their choosing. With these Facebook invites, some old pots and knives, my pretty dishes, we set off on what would be sure to be quite the most interesting 52 Wednesdays we had ever had!

Over the next few days, we will try and summaries the six previous dinners, the people who graced our evenings, the cuisine that nourished our spirits, and the memories that we will hold dear for many more Wednesdays to come! Thank you for taking this journey with us and we hope that you will grace us with your presence one of these Wednesdays.
